Limited Mobility and Wheelchair Lighting LED's
While at the Veterans Hospital recently we spoke with some of the veterans who had limited mobility chairs. The chairs were a fantastic breakthrough for the handicap. The lighting on them, however is extremely limited. Many have very small low intensity lights that shine forward and some have a small red light on the back and that is all. If a person wanted to see beyond his immediate area - it was out of the question.
Wildcat Lighting's Extreme LED's seemed to be a solution for these problems. We simply made a list of questions that we felt we would want... then we took a ride in one of the chairs in the dark and added more questions or tasks to the list.
1. The range on conventional lights was very limited forward.
2. The side lighting was none... so a person could not see left or right in the dark.
3. There was virtually no light behind the person. Even though the person could turn their head - they could not see without turning the cart.
4. Voltage and power consumption was not to large a problem - but one we needed to address.
5. Light intensity and control was an issue. We wanted to insure that the person had control of both intensity and power. It would be a problem if the light intensity in a social environment was to intense and became an irritation to the to the people around it.
